Origins

The station opened on 15 August 1867 as part of the Silesian Mountain Railway, built by the Prussian State Railways. It now lies administratively on the Wrocław Świebodzki – Zgorzelec line.

Function

Two platforms serve the passenger traffic. The station's continuing importance is on the freight side: it remains a significant railhead for the local mineral industry, and the yard is busier than the platforms by a wide margin.

It has the atmosphere of a station with more trains than passengers, which is an accurate description of what it now is.

An independent inventory of railway engineering structures in Silesia. Compiled from published sources and site visits. Not connected with any infrastructure manager, operator, museum or public authority.

Figures are quoted as published and are not independently surveyed. Access notes describe conditions observed on a particular day and must not be relied on for planning. Several structures listed here are disused and unsafe.
